José Miguel Hernández is founder of La Joven Guardia del Teatro Latino in Syracuse, New York. He works to transform the lives of low income Latino youth and youth with terminal diseases by involving them in Spanish language theatrical performances. His program builds self-confidence and has a high rate of success in getting youth to graduate from high school and continue on to college.
